Scottish Awards

The Travel Weekly Agent Excellence Awards are now looking to recognise the best Scottish agents and agencies in the industry. The Scottish awards are sponsored by Amadeus and will be held in conjunction with the SPAA awards.

Following on from the prestigious awards ceremonies being held in the Midlands, Southwest and Wales, North and South East, the Agent Excellence Awards identify the outstanding achievements of individuals and companies that have shown the trade that the modern travel agency is thriving. There are four categories open to agents from both the leisure and business travel sectors. For these Scottish awards only SPAA members are eligible to enter.

The categories are:

  • Best manager, large leisure agency
  • Best manager, small leisure agency
  • Best manager, travel management company
  • Best SPAA travel agency of the Year

    • The awards are open to readers who work in the travel agent sector – specifically in shops, call centres and homeworkers. You can either enter yourself or you can nominate someone else. The most important thing is to get nominations in by the deadline – you’ve got to be in it to win it!

    Entering is easy; all you need to do is email, post or fax Angela Hamilton-Jones with the following information about the person you are nominating (you can nominate yourself), and make sure the nominee answers the following few questions.

    1. What are your main responsibilities / describe your agency, for example its location and customer base? (100 words).
    2. What have been your or your agency’s greatest achievements over the past 12 months? Give examples or statistics to back up your entry - for example details of sales targets and figures, or of a particular booking. (200 words).
    3. What has been your or your agency’s greatest challenge over the past 12 months and how have you overcome it? (200 words).
    4. How has your / your agency’s work contributed to the success of your company or team over the past 12 months? (100 words).
    5. How will you or your agency use the achievements to improve the way you and your company or team works? (200 words).
    6. Is there anything else you would like to add to support your nomination? (200 words).
